In Deuteronomy, a somber scene,
Moses' final moments, bittersweet and keen.
Chapter thirty-four, his farewell near,
As he climbed Mount Nebo, with eyes clear.
God showed him the promised land, so fair,
But Moses could not enter there.
For his time had come, his journey done,
His work completed, God's will was won.
He blessed the people, one last time,
With words of wisdom, so sublime.
And then he died, on Nebo's peak,
His legacy strong, a life so meek.
Israel mourned their faithful guide,
With tears and sorrow, far and wide.
But God's promises never fade,
His faithfulness will never shade.
In Deut, Chapter Thirty-Four's final page,
Moses' story ends, in wisdom and age.
But his legacy lives on, forever bright,
A testament to God's guiding light.
