And maybe French-speaking movie-loving dinosaurs like me will remember old Odette Talazac singing this song in the Julien Duvivier movie of 1939 "La Fin du Jour" with the unforgettable Michel Simon et Louis Jouvet (who actually got largely forgotten - because cherry time is so short...). This movie is dear to my heart because it reminds me of my dad - and of the finiteness of our lives (... la fin du jour ...).
