On a mustard-coloured background (#666600) with golden scratches and a rough paper texture, use a pencil and charcoal sticks to sketch a quick outline of a slender flamenco dancer, just as fashion designers do. The skirt of the long dress is made in the quilling style from thin, shiny black paper strips, cascading like rods down to the floor and ending in a long train of spiral-twisted, teardrop-shaped filigree paper flowers with a metallic sheen (colours #3F1521, #330066 and #E6BE8A). In her hands she holds a filigree fan created using the quilling technique; in her ears are long filigree earrings, all in the shades mentioned above. An ethereal, atmospheric piece, featuring the silhouette of an ephemeral, graceful dancer, rendered schematically but with detailed work on the dress, fan and jewellery, using the quilling technique. In a style reminiscent of Yulia Brodskaya, Erin Curet, Laura Laine and Alisa Burke.Full size image, no text, no copyright.
