Some believe that Jesus descended into hell after his death to proclaim victory over condemned souls, liberate Old Testament saints, or offer a second chance at salvation.
Preached to the spirits in prison
Some believe that Jesus preached to the "spirits in prison" who "formerly did not obey". These "spirits" are thought to be the souls of Old Testament believers that Jesus liberated and brought to heaven.
