And so begins the story of Sleeping Beauty, La Belle au bois dormant (The Beauty Sleeping in the Wood) or Dornröschen (Little Briar Rose). An age old folk tale, originating in a poem in the 1300s, adapted and retold over the centuries, and eventually collected and printed by the Brothers Grimm. My title comes from the Brothers Grimm story I read as a child.
