More about Not North (poem)

Directionless, I am, in life.
I'm not positionally blessed.
I can determine up and down,
But I know not east nor west.

Left and right and north and south
Are words that have no meaning.
It's sad that I will never know
Which way that I am leaning.

At sundown, yes! I know where's west.
At sunup, there is east!
So every day for an hour or so
I know those two, at least.

When driving friends, they often say,
"Oh Deb! Turn left right here!"
And then they laugh like crazy loons
As right to left, I veer.

Some people say there's a problem
Deep in my parietal lobes,
But I just think they're prejudiced
Ambidextro-phobes.

To paraphrase Mark Twain, "Anyone who thinks there is only way to turn left obviously lacks imagination."
