The original photograph is from my back yard, where Neomarica gracilis has "walked" to cover a large swath along one side. Spring is particularly lovely in that shady spot. Neomarica gracilis is known as the Walking Iris or the Apostle Plant, and also sometimes called "the poor man's orchid".
