I recently saw a photo of some just-hatched heron chicks and it made me laugh. They were a ridiculous mix of unfinished becoming! And also that marvelous promise of new life. I wanted to see what I could do with DDG and that goofy newness. I had some results that were more like what I'd seen, but this one (which has a lot more down on these chicks than they had) simply captivated me. It makes me smile every time I look at it.
