More about Witches, Wizards and Fairies Part 10 The Clockmaker of Drowned Time

Deep beneath a forgotten city lies the workshop of the Clockmaker of Drowned Time. Long ago, he attempted to control time itself, creating devices that could pause, rewind, or preserve moments. But time does not bend without consequence. His experiments flooded his world—not with water alone, but with lost seconds, unfinished hours, and abandoned futures. Now he drifts through his submerged workshop, endlessly repairing clocks that no longer belong to the present. Those who find him may ask for a moment to be returned—a missed chance, a final goodbye—but the price is always hidden. For every moment restored, another must be taken. Often, the Clockmaker chooses which one. Those who leave may gain what they wished for… only to discover that something else in their life has quietly vanished.

A steampunk-style image of a man standing knee-deep in murky, golden-hued water, repairing a small, ornate clock. He is wearing a leather cap with goggles, a tattered brown apron over a long-sleeved shirt, and sturdy pants, all indicative of a mechanic or artisan. His arms are suspended in the air, holding the clock at eye level. The man is surrounded by a flooded workshop or basement, with many other clocks and timepieces floating and partially submerged in the water around him. Below the water's surface, large brass gears and intricate clockwork mechanisms are visible. The workshop itself is dark and atmospheric, lit by hanging lanterns that cast a warm glow. The walls are made of distressed wood and rusted metal paneling, with exposed brickwork in places, and shelves filled with tools, gears, and other mechanical parts. A large, ornate clock hangs on the left wall. Water drips from overhead pipes, adding to the sense of a slowly flooding environment. The overall mood is mysterious and focused, highlighting the meticulous work of the clockmaker amidst the rising waters.
