On the Sunday of our arrival in Bavaria, I was pleasantly surprised to see an older lady walk into the Konditorei, dressed in a traditional Dirndl. Tradition still lives, quietly. So beautiful, so dignified. I see that same dignity reflected in the cemeteries. The graves speak of loving, ongoing care; each one is tended, neat, and adorned with fresh flowers—every single one, without exception. Respect is breathing here.
