The Truth Will Not Hurt You
Science is nothing, but trained and organized common sense.
It is a collection of rules which serve for the guidance of us
reasoning in everyday affairs.
Without it, we should be absolutely ignorant of almost everything
in the world around us.
Without it, all our knowledge would be vague and uncertain;
it would be limited to what we could see or feel or remember; to what
our senses perceived of things that are close around us; and there
would be no knowledge of anything that lies beyond our immediate
sphere.
