According to the Bhagavad Gita, one of the fundamental reasons for human loneliness and suffering is attachment to material things and the false idea of self. It states that individuals become attached to their material possessions and the temporary nature of their physical body and forget the true self which is eternal and unchanging. This attachment leads to a feeling of separation and loneliness, and the constant desire to obtain more material things leads to suffering. The Gita also mentions that the root cause of all suffering is the ego and the illusion of separation from the divine, the ultimate reality. It teaches that the path to liberation from suffering is through self-realization, detachment, and union with the divine through devotion and service.
