Memorial Art Museum On The Lake

More about Memorial Art Museum On The Lake

While revisiting my hometown of Milwaukee, made a point to see the Milwaukee Memorial Art Museum perched on the shore of Lake Michigan and shot a photograph. The museum was designed by renowned architect Santiago Calatrva from Valencia, Spain. One of the unique features of this building is during the day it will spread open its mechanical “wings” which resemble a bird of prey when open. The building also resembles a vessel, set for sail, proudly near the shoreline. Some locals call it “Calatrva’s revenge”, I see beauty. This render was inspired by my photo. Perhaps I should retitle this piece, “Calatrava ‘s Revenge”. https://mam.org/visit/burke-brise-soleil/

A high-angle full shot features an ornate, metallic, futuristic spired building on the ocean, with mechanical wings outspread, under a reddish sky with clouds and glowing stars. The structure is situated in the center, with the wings symmetrically extending outwards. The central structure of the building is composed of a sleek, pointed spire, soaring towards the sky, with warm lights glowing from within its windows. Atop the very pinnacle of the spire, a small red light shines brightly. Two large mechanical wings, reminiscent of bird wings, flank the central tower, adding a dynamic and grand element to the architectural design. The wings are made of segmented, metallic plates and appear to be slightly ajar, as if about to take flight or land. The base of the building is anchored in the calm, dark ocean water, which creates a slight reflection of the structure. The surrounding ocean has gentle waves, creating small ripples and splashing against the base of the building. The sky above is a dramatic deep red, filled with dark clouds and glowing reddish-orange stars or celestial bodies. The lighting is warm and dramatic, casting a golden hue over the metal structures and the water's surface, enhancing the overall futuristic and majestic atmosphere of the scene
