The world's a certain way to human eyes
Assisted by our brains, which fill the gaps.
Imagination offers some surprise,
A chance to let the laws of nature lapse...

As children can find dragons in the clouds,
Artistic license lets us sketch a tale:
The one we want to see, without the shrouds
Of realism that can turn life stale.

And since our minds already intervene
To give the patches we perceive their sense,
Why not reprogram how we paint each scene--

Let unexpected inferences reign
To make our daily pleasures more intense:
Thus no-one stands to lose, but each to gain.
