Artist statement
Remember that a group of programmers created this amazing AI program that takes a bunch of words and creates magic from them. Remember that when you use a living artist's name as a prompt that they may consider that a type of 'art theft' and many are really mad about that. Yes, it takes practice and some knowhow to create a prompt but the prompt itself isn't 'art'...it's a set of directions/instructions; a recipe if you will. I never sign any of the AI artwork that spits out the other end of a set of directions I've given it or add a watermark. I don't consider any of the creations that DDG makes 'my property' but it's not anyone else's to use at random, either. I believe we walk a fine line, here with artificial intelligence making instant awesome pictures for us. I think we get caught up in all of the 'it's mine, give me credit, give me more likes'...and forget that there are living human beings behind the algorithms and complex code that takes a few seconds to make what you told it to. Imagine how long it took those individuals to write this program! If you gave a set of instructions to a famous artist and they painted what you wanted, who's name would you put on it? Yours? Did you take up that brush and mark the canvas? A set of instructions is not art. Read that again.
