Prompt: the verse from Genesis 1:27, which says: "And God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female He created them." Instead of the words "image" of God in the Second Book of Enoch, we find the expression "face" of God, and instead of "man and woman he created them," we read "the Lord created small and great." In the light of Jewish, Gnostic, and Mandaean traditions, according to which the concept of the "image of God" from Genesis 1:27 was interpreted as a hypostatic entity, often identified with the Heavenly Adam, the replacement of the words "image of God" from Gen. 1:27 on the words "the face of God" serves as evidence of the fact that in this early source the concept of "the face of God" was also perceived as a hypostatic entity.
