Prompt: Masterpiece, highly detailed traditional ink and watercolor conservation illustration, non-photorealistic natural-history artwork, intricate hand-drawn archival ink linework combined with translucent watercolor washes, textured cream archival paper, sophisticated botanical and zoological detail.
Main subject: an adult male Tapanuli Orangutan, Pongo tapanuliensis, high in the rainforest canopy of Batang Toru, North Sumatra. Distinctive long reddish-brown fur, broad expressive face, prominent cheek pads, short beard, dark intelligent eyes, powerful elongated arms, large hands with naturally curved fingers and strong feet adapted for climbing.
Composition: strong diagonal tree trunk rising from the lower corner toward the orangutan, creating a natural visual path. The animal occupies the upper-middle portion of the composition while the immense rainforest expands behind it. The viewer should feel that the animal is small compared with the ancient forest surrounding it.
Pose: three-quarter profile, sitting securely on a large moss-covered branch, one hand holding a thin branch carrying ripe forest fruits. Head turned slightly toward the viewer, relaxed but watchful.
Environment: intricate Sumatran rainforest canopy with giant tree trunks, twisted vines, epiphytes, ferns, moss, orchids, leaves and layered branches. Distant volcanic mountain slopes disappear into pale watercolor mist.
Natural-history details: several recognizable fruits and seed-bearing plants around the orangutan, tiny insects on bark, subtle nest-building materials, and scattered leaves. Avoid excessive decorative elements and preserve ecological realism.
Conservation message: distant background forest becomes gradually thinner toward a subtle human-modified edge, while the immediate canopy surrounding the orangutan remains richly intact. The contrast should symbolize habitat fragmentation without showing machinery, buildings or destruction as the dominant subject.
Ink treatment: fine controlled contour lines, cross-hatching on bark and selected shadows, delicate feather-like ink strokes defining the orangutan's long hair, botanical linework on leaves and vines. Watercolor remains translucent and luminous beneath the ink.
Color palette: natural earthy sienna, burnt umber, muted orange-brown, deep forest green, moss green, subdued turquoise, pale misty blue and warm ochre accents.
Mood: quiet, intimate, ancient and contemplative, emphasizing the extraordinary connection between one rare great ape and the last fragments of its forest home.
