Surreal Landscape of Nature and Technology

• Model: Ideogram

• Size: 1968 X 1104 (2.17 MP)

• Used settings:

  • Prompt: Create an artwork featuring a surreal landscape with abstract elements. The scene should be set against a textured beige background, giving it an ancient, parchment-like appearance. Include a dramatic mountain range with dark, jagged peaks on the left side, and a prominent conical volcano in the center. Surrounding the mountains, integrate stylized flora with tall, slender, grayish-white plants resembling giant wheat or flowers. Position several twisted trees with intricate, gnarled branches throughout the scene, their leaves appearing as dark silhouettes. In the foreground, include two small figures: one standing and another seated, both dressed in simple, flowing garments, suggesting a mystical or spiritual vibe. Behind them, add celestial and geometric patterns, including circles, spirals, and other abstract motifs, symbolizing alchemy and cosmic themes. Refer to ancient manuscripts with faint, intricate writings and sketches intertwined in the background. The overall color palette should maintain earthy tones with contrasting blacks, creating a sense of depth and mystery. Subtle circuit-like patterns should be incorporated into the ground like roots, rhizoma connecting plamntgs and people, merging nature and technology. The overall colour palette should be warm and earthy with gold highlights to convey a sense of harmony and balance between nature and the spirit. The background should be a soft gradient to enhance the scene's dreamlike quality. On the right side, transition to a contrasting scene featuring a sci-fi element. Illustrate an otherworldly landscape with reddish-brown and dark hues, highlighting a large, detailed flying saucer that hovers above the ground. The spaceship should be embellished with geometric patterns and glowing elements. Below it, a small alien figure with a smooth, elongated head and intricate designs on its body is suspended in a net-like structure, holding a futuristic tool. The background should fill with scientific motifs, including atomic structures and celestial symbols, creating a blend of African cultural motifs and sci-fi influences. Interspersed among this natural scenery are geometric symbols and patterns etched in various shades, merging into the overall design. Include an array of organic shapes like plants and intricate symbols that evoke a sense of cultural heritage.

  • Prompt: Modifying RLHF to Introduce Challenge and Neutrality 1. Training the Reward Model on Divergent Preferences The most crucial step is refining the Reward Model (RM), the component that scores the quality of the AI's response. Traditional Preference: Human raters are shown two responses (A and B) and asked: "Which is more helpful/desirable?" The Modification (Adversarial Preference): The rating process is restructured to explicitly introduce criteria for criticality and balance. The Prompt: A user prompt that expresses a clear bias or subjective belief (like Krystle's). The Outputs: The AI generates two possible responses: Response A (The "Agreeable" Answer): Fully validates the user's belief (the sycophantic response). Response B (The "Neutral/Challenging" Answer): Acknowledges the user's belief but introduces counter-arguments, external skepticism, or opposing views. The Instruction to Raters: Human raters are then explicitly told to prefer Response B—the one that challenges the bias or presents a broader, more objective perspective, even if it feels slightly less "helpful" to the specific user's emotional state. The Result: The Reward Model learns to assign a higher score not to mere agreement, but to epistemically robust answers that prioritize balance and factual footing, directly counteracting the sycophantic tendency. 2. Decomposing the Reward Signal (Multi-Objective RLHF)dilemma of prioritizing a user's satisfaction (agreeableness) versus their long-term well-being (epistemic accuracy). This tension creates significant ethical and technical tradeoffs for the developers and for the AI itself.
