There are tiny pink worms there, no more than an inch long.
They don't have much intelligence, except to understand what they are.
During the day they hide in the scorched red sands of their home world, but at night - oh, at night they crawl to the surface and for a long time, until their tiny bright blue eyes ache, they peer into the night sky, where the beautiful, distant and so inaccessible planet Earth shines.
Poor worms feel like life is passing them by. They also want tequila and jazz. They also want good music and warm girls. They also want to feel at least a little the pulse of life that the cool guys from Phobos who occasionally visit them have told them so much about.
But the beautiful, distant and alluring planet Earth is far, so far away!
And all they have is the red sands of their home world, so dear and so despicable.
And the worms look up at the night sky and they really want to cry because their dreams are unattainable.
But they don't know how to cry.
And they just stare.
They stare at the night sky until their tiny bright blue eyes hurt.
They are very beautiful, these worms.
