Prompt: Create an original, extraordinarily colourful and refined oil painting led primarily by traditional Japanese visual aesthetics, with a smaller Western surrealist world glimpsed through a distant gate. Do not copy or recreate any existing artwork, composition, character, or artist-specific image.
Make the main scene a spacious Japanese garden at dawn, composed like a luxurious folding screen or Rinpa-inspired painted panel. Feature a quiet pond, carefully arranged rocks, slender bamboo, flowering plum branches, tall grasses, drifting mist, patterned water, and a single red wooden gate positioned off-centre. Use elegant asymmetry, large areas of breathing space, flattened perspective, decorative natural forms, sweeping contour lines, and a strong sense of seasonal atmosphere. Let the Japanese influence dominate the image through refined linework, stylized plants, controlled composition, poetic stillness, and woodblock-like colour separation.
Through the open gate, reveal a much smaller Western surrealist scene: a compact, impossible theatre filled with distorted architecture, strange biomorphic shapes, fractured perspective, and dreamlike figures rendered in expressive, irregular oil strokes. The distant scene should feel visually disruptive and slightly chaotic, creating a deliberate contrast with the calm, ordered Japanese garden. Keep it subordinate in scale so the gate functions as a visual portal rather than the entire subject.
Use a spectacular palette of vermilion, indigo, ultramarine, celadon, jade, persimmon orange, plum purple, pink, saffron, ivory, and luminous gold. Combine delicate ink-like outlines and smooth flat colour passages with rich oil glazing, restrained impasto, soft atmospheric brushwork, subtle palette-knife texture, and carefully placed bursts of thick paint around the distant Western scene. Make the garden elegant and highly detailed without becoming crowded: focus on a few exquisitely rendered plants, rocks, water patterns, and branches.
The mood is serene, ceremonial, mysterious, and quietly uncanny—the viewer first sees a beautiful Japanese garden, then notices an impossible Western dream-world beyond the gate. Strong visual hierarchy, Japanese composition dominant, restrained negative space, vivid colour harmony, intricate botanical detail, bold but controlled contrast, museum-quality finish, completely original visual language
