Threads of the Turning Year

• Model: ChatGPT 2 (Pro)

• Size: 2224 X 1668 (3.71 MP)

• Used settings:

  • Prompt: Create a 3D textile art image of a serene, sculptural face emerging from an intricate mosaic of quilted, layered fabrics, transformed into a four-seasons allegory. The profile and contours of the face are shaped from overlapping swatches of raw-edge textiles, appliquéd and quilted together, with peeled and fraying fabric borders peeling back to reveal each seasonal layer beneath. The outermost layer embodies winter, sculpted from crisp white cotton batting, chunky cream cable-knits, and silver-threaded lace reminiscent of frost-covered pine boughs and textured snowflakes. As this outer quilt gently peels back with visible loose threads, it reveals autumn: a rich collage of burnt-orange corduroy, rustic plaid wool tweed, and felted amber leaves accented with golden thread running-stitches. Beneath the autumn fabric, summer bursts forth through lush emerald velvet, vibrant floral needlepoint, and soft textured calico blooming with punch-needle sunflowers and clover. The deepest underlying layer reveals spring, crafted from delicate pastel-pink linen, sheer silk organza, and fuzzy chenille sprouts forming soft budding blossoms. The entire composition is bounded within the subtle circular motif of an oversized, polished wooden embroidery hoop, styled like the dial of an antique clock where the hour marks are rendered as delicate French knots and trailing embroidery floss. Soft, directional studio lighting grazes the scene, catching the fuzzy textures of the wool, the ribbed ridges of the corduroy, and casting gentle micro-shadows beneath each peeling textile edge. The resulting composition balances handcrafted whimsy with deep dimensional craft, celebrating the passage of time through the warmth of tactile fiber art.

Kinusaiga dream world in the rock castle

• Model: Z-Image Turbo

• Size: 1040 X 1488 (1.55 MP)

• Used settings:

  • Prompt: Transform the original pen drawing into an intricate handcrafted Japanese kinusaiga artwork while preserving the complete original composition, spatial structure, proportions, silhouettes and placement of every figure and architectural element. Recreate the image from hundreds of small, irregularly shaped pieces of silk, satin, chirimen crepe, brocade and finely woven fabric, carefully tucked into narrow carved grooves. Divide every large surface into many smaller curved and polygonal textile fragments. The direction of the fabric pieces must follow the original pen lines, hatching, folds, anatomy, architectural planes and flowing contours, creating subtle three-dimensional padded relief. Preserve all original elements: the large folded enclosing rock-like structure, the central long-haired hooded female figure, the two pale heads emerging from the upper edge, the elongated standing female figure at the upper right, the stone house, sloping roofs, tall tower, dark tree, the small inverted reclining figure near the bottom, and the fragmented profile contour along the far left side. Keep all faces recognizable, delicate and mysterious. Use a refined, harmonious palette of deep indigo, smoky teal, petrol blue, muted plum, burgundy, old rose, moss green, antique ochre, warm mineral grey, ivory, copper and restrained touches of subdued gold. Keep the faces in pale warm ivory tones. Use varied stone-like textiles for the masonry and dark aubergine, deep green and black fabrics for the tree. Authentic no-sew kinusaiga technique, extremely detailed micro-segmentation, clean recessed grooves, finely tucked fabric edges, subtle textile grain, gentle satin shimmer and shallow sculptural relief. Soft museum lighting from the upper left reveals the weave and depth of every small fabric piece. Maintain the irregular outer silhouette and the generous warm ivory negative space surrounding the composition. Mysterious, poetic, contemplative atmosphere, highly refined textile craftsmanship, vertical fine-art composition.

The sun: pastoral sunrise tapestry

• Model: Grok

• Size: 5672 X 3192 (18.11 MP)

• Used settings:

  • Prompt: Sunrise tapestry. 16:9 full width valuable contemporary tapestry showing a pastoral scene at sunrise. The colors are muted – olive, ochre, tan, ivory, dusty pink, warm yellow, burnt orange, and blue-gray – and the motif is a panoramic view of a hilly landscape with the sun rising. The hills are dotted with trees and meadows. Close to the viewer stands a small group of sheep, grazing peacefully in the light of the sunrise. The tapestry is an artisanal, densely hand-woven work, shown very close up and extending beyond the edges of the image. The weft is tightly packed and includes threads of silk and gold for added luster and color. The trailblazing weaver showcases exceptional skill and whimsy by using strongly tufted, hand-spun wool to recreate the coat of the sheep and the fluffy appearance of the trees dotting the landscape. The wool is dyed with natural plant dyes. The sliver of rising sun is quilted with gold thread over the tapestry, and the orange and yellow sky surrounding it is additionally embroidered with lustrous silk, drawing the viewer’s attention to the sun before taking in the many extraordinary details of the tapestry. Outstanding, museum-quality contemporary tapestry, incredible level of detail and beauty. Tapestry influenced by contemporary textile artists Ruth Norbury, Jake Hensler, Marcia Eygabroat, Victoria Potrovitza.
