  • Prompt: 16:9, 64K, VAC1.2 PURE HORROR PHOTOGRAPH. Moonless late-autumn night in an abandoned centuries-old rural churchyard. Ground-level wide camera looking along rows of leaning gravestones beneath skeletal trees. A solitary adult groundskeeper carrying an old lantern has stopped beside a newly collapsed grave. Beneath the broken earth is not a coffin but an enormous subterranean cavity extending underneath the entire cemetery. His lantern reveals hundreds of pale, root-like shapes descending from the graves into darkness—until careful inspection shows that some are long articulated fingers, slowly curled around soil and coffin wood from below. Far beneath him, at the extreme limit of lantern illumination, two enormous cloudy eyes stare upward from something whose head could not physically fit through the opening. Dead leaves are being pulled downward against the wind. Brutal lantern chiaroscuro, black sky, wet soil, cold breath and volumetric ground mist. 24mm low-angle environmental photography. No exposed corpses, no gore. The implication is worse: the cemetery was never containing the dead—it was covering something else.
