Some would tell you they know the path that brings light.
To whom?
Darkness comes as our worlds are consumed. Yet light is reborn in each of us in radical acts of joy. A hope, a dream, not letting your brother or sister steep in anger. The millions of little unspoken things.
Each are fissures in the fabric of hate. Each have there part to shift our reality in a collective way. Each of these acts of joy is bravery in the moment. It isn't always easy to tell someone what they mean to you in moments of their pain. Yet we do. We don't horde this light for ourselves, it can only be shared. Nor do you share your love with another in service to them. Each moment a point of connection in a fabric of understanding.
Anyone can fall, anyone can loose their way.
It becomes our duty to do our best to be a point of connection to escape their hate. For they don't know yet still will seek to lead the way.
The key distinction between knowing joy, and allowing hate to consume us is in recognition.
Children die of hunger as we live with full plates.
Yet if we allow villains to be made where they don't exist we may never allow for love to vanquish hate. A mind must be given time to heal. In time they will understand the gravity of of anyone's actions to deprive us of our collective humanity.
Love must be deployed with force at times. Sometimes all that works is the tough form of love. A path to brining rage to heel. Never dwell on this.
We are all connected weather you spend your time growing food. Spreading your talent by brining others joy. Even giving time to someone who is stuck. You are mending the fabric of light in the face of great sorrow. You're not only healing yourself, or just the person you are attempting to help. You're reweaving the fabric of humanity with care. In this way you are helping that child who waits for our collective mercy. In these little actions we come one step closer to putting food on their plate.
