Easy to ignore, walked over never allowed in the door.
The plight of another becomes noise of just another day.
When your so busy, your life so full why can't they do the same?
Homeless often isn't a choice, it is a circumstance.
One day you may need to live in your car.
The next their may be no car to live in.
The shelter lines are long and rigid. Where do you go next?
Any space you occupy, now you're a walking crime.
Beg, borrow, steal, there is no sleep one eye always open.
No contact, gaze cast down as if your not someone's child.
The strongest communities can be found here.
They don't all get along.
Their circumstance is their bond.
We often place more burdens on them, breaking the broken.
Inconvenient byproduct of our thoughtlessness.
We allow our fear to consume our kindness...
Are you someone who lost their compassion?
Who have we become?
Allowing this poverty is everyone's crime.
