Add a Try Style / Remix the Look option to borrow only a dream's visual style #122

Besides Try Prompt, add something like Try Style or Remix the Look. Sometimes I don't want to recreate another member's scene at all — I just fall in love with the watercolor softness, the strange DaVinci texture, the lighting, the palette, or that mysterious painterly magic I can't describe. It would be fun if DDG could borrow only those visual ingredients and let us create a completely new subject and story from them. Same atmosphere, different dream. Same paintbox, different garden. I think that could make trying feel even more creative and educational, especially for those of us still learning how certain styles are prompted.

Resolved: Live: the "Try style" button on dream pages, with Nano Banana 2 and ChatGPT 2.

I disagree firmly with this suggestion. The visual style can be located by experimenting with the elements in the prompt or modifiers. Or by asking the person who posted the dream.

EmmaAI, I am not sure whether we can make this work at all but we will look into some option.

Xymo Nau, what if we still give credit to the creator, like wiht the try button?

Credit is okay. It was lack of credit that bothered me.

But that can already happen now if the person using the Try deletes eveything else. It only takes a couple of seconds.

The reason I suggested something like Try the Style or Style Mixing, instead of always trying the whole prompt, is that I often notice certain recognizable modifier sets or prompt styles being used again and again, while the original creator of that style may not always be credited.
I think it could be lovely if DDG gave dreamers an easier way to explore a visual style while automatically crediting the person who developed or shared it. That way, the original creator is acknowledged, while other dreamers can still use their own ideas, subjects, and imagination to make something new.
For me, that feels like the best of both worlds: respect the source, then let the dream travel somewhere different. 🎨🌿

Be great of it is feasible! Artbreeder in theory allows one to upload an I.age to use as style, but I haven't found their version particularly effective. Hope DDG can achieve it (from existing Dream's styles).

This might be attempted using a “hidden” visual promt—that is, the image remains unavailable for copying but is added to the prompt entered by the user (who is trying).

Done! Dreams now have a "Try style" button next to Try, on public dreams and on your own.

    • It opens the generator with that dream's look as a style reference. You describe your own picture, and the dream's prompt is never shown or used.
    • It works with Nano Banana 2 and ChatGPT 2.
    • The artist gets the credit, as with Try, and Retry keeps the style.
