ABOUT THIS SPECIES

Humans call these aliens Greenworlders because it's a translation of their name for themselves, since they speak in clicks, whistles and other sounds that aren't reproducible by humans. They are primarily insectile creatures : their moth-like antennae allow for chemical communication so subtle that it seems like telepathy to the uninformed, while their "rabbit ears" allow them to identify the location of any sound immediately. Although their distant ancestors might have been hive animals, the Greenworlders are individualized creatures, although they live in communitarian societies, necessitated by the ubiquity and power of their chemical communication.

The Jee-Dubs, as they're known, have built a powerful commercial empire based on the sale of biomaterials, from species genomes to entire terraforming packages - they'll even do the terraforming for you, although they charge a lot, since they prefer simple sales without a bunch of contractual entanglements.

They are also the ultimate vegan foodies : they can eat the flora of many different worlds, since their bodies can break down just about any poison with a liver-like organ. The harder a plant is to come by, the more they're willing to pay to eat it. They have a great appreciation for subtleties of tastes and the grouping of complementary tastes, like the umami of the Japanese.
