More about The Kappa Poem

In the rivers and lakes of old Japan,
Lurks a creature, both beast and man.
With scaly skin, and a shell on its back,
The Kappa, a legendary, aquatic attack.
Its head is large, with beady eyes,
A sharp beak, and a cunning guise.
Its limbs are strong, with webbed fingers,
A creature of the water, a formidable stinger.
The Kappa's tricks, they are well known,
From pulling pranks to claiming a bone.
It loves to wrestle, and play with might,
A mischievous spirit, both day and night.
But beware its hunger, for human flesh,
The Kappa's hunger, it will not refresh.
Its appetite, voracious and keen,
A creature of danger, a force to be seen.
So be cautious near the water's edge,
For the Kappa's antics, may cause a wedge.
Respect its power, and show due care,
The Kappa's legend, a tale so rare.
