More about The Medusa Poem

A monster once fair, with locks of gold,
Her beauty's fame, a story of old.
Medusa was her dreaded name,
A Gorgon cursed with eyes of flame.
One look, one glance, and all would freeze,
Turned to stone, like ancient decrees.
Her visage feared, her stare so dire,
Beware her gaze, a deadly pyre.
Her serpent hair, a twisted braid,
A snaky nest, in shadows laid.
Her monstrous form, a fearsome sight,
A creature born of darkest night.
But fate would change, a hero bold,
With sword in hand, and heart so bold.
Perseus came, with cunning plan,
To face Medusa, woman-turned-bane.
With polished shield, he caught her eye,
Averted gaze, as swift as a sigh.
He struck with force, a mortal blow,
And Medusa's fate was sealed, just so.
Her severed head, a trophy won,
Her curse undone, her story spun.
A warning tale, of hubris and pride,
A beauty lost, a fate unwise.
So let us heed, the tale of dread,
Of Medusa's gaze, and the heroes led.
For beauty fades, but wisdom prevails,
A lesson learned, in ancient tales.
