Where Geometry Learns to Bloom
by © emma cha
Measured lines awaken,
Golden flowers soften reason,
Silence starts to bloom.
Description (~300 characters)
An abstract portrait where Bauhaus architecture and Matisse-inspired botanical forms achieve a rare equilibrium. Monumental Senecio flowers become structural elements rather than decoration, while engraved gouache textures and Vallotton's graphic restraint lend the enigmatic figure a timeless modernist presence.
Artistic Statement:
This work explores the point where architecture becomes organic. Rather than opposing geometry and nature, both evolve into a shared visual language. Monumental Senecio flowers echo circles, grids and architectural plans, while the portrait remains calm and psychologically ambiguous. Inspired by Bauhaus discipline, Matisse's lyrical simplification and Vallotton's graphic clarity, the composition invites the eye to wander between order and spontaneity.
Influences: Bauhaus, Henri Matisse, Félix Vallotton
