I care about other human beings.
Does that make me a bad person?
NO!
Let no priest pronounce me damned,
No king condemn the helping hand,
No flag divide the human heart,
No creed decree we stand apart.
Anathema to hate and fear!
Anathema to walls we rear!
But never to the love we give,
Nor to the right of all to live.
If kindness is a mortal sin,
Let all the sinners enter in!
If mercy is a heresy,
Then let the whole world disagree!
I care about other human beings.
Does that make me a bad person?
NO!
Let this be our anti-anathema:
No soul condemned for loving another.
No stranger denied the name of brother.
No human being beyond our care.
NO! NO! A THOUSAND TIMES NO!
