The source picture was a pic of my grandfather and his brother, from, best guess, the late 1930's. I know little about either of them from this time period, except that neither was a hobo. I suspect that the pic was intended to be humorous, which is interesting because it is in sharp contrast to the stoic old man I knew my grandfather to be when I was a child.
