When guilt is felt, and wrong is done,
Leviticus 5, a path begun,
To find forgiveness, and make amends,
To make things right, and make new friends.
For sins of ignorance, or a careless word,
For touching something unclean, unheard,
A trespass made, or a hasty vow,
Leviticus 5, shows us how.
A sacrifice brought, as a solemn plea,
A lamb or dove, or two turtledrees,
The priest intercedes, on behalf of all,
With prayers for mercy, to break sin's thrall.
Confession made, with contrite heart,
Acknowledging wrong, a humble start,
Restitution made, to those we've wronged,
A chance for redemption, to which we've longed.
In Leviticus 5, we see the way,
To find repentance, and not delay,
To seek forgiveness, with earnest plea,
And walk in righteousness, sin set free.
So let us learn, from ancient days,
To humble ourselves, in contrite ways,
To seek forgiveness, with hearts sincere,
In Leviticus 5, redemption is near.
