The wind began to howl and spin,
As the tornado made its way in,
It tore through my life with such ease,
Taking with it my precious memories.
Gone were the moments of joy and laughter,
And the memories of those I loved after,
The storm had stolen them all away,
Leaving me with nothing but dismay.
The pictures on the walls were gone,
And the memories they held withdrawn,
The books and journals that I had kept,
Were all lost in the storm's cruel swept.
The tornado had no mercy or care,
As it took everything, leaving me bare,
But though my memories are lost in the wind,
I know that I can make new ones begin.
I'll build new memories that are strong,
And cherish them forever long,
For though the storm may have taken my past,
My future is one that I can hold fast.
