A goat stands on a narrow pedestal, balanced above the ordinary ground as if it has remembered something the earth has forgotten. Below it, the man holds the string, but the string does not hold the goat. It only describes a relationship—like time, like birth, like the thin neck of the hourglass through which everything insists on passing.

The monkey watches. The smaller figure imitates. The scene repeats itself in quiet variations across centuries, cultures, bodies.

Nothing changes.

Everything changes.

Reincarnation is not a wheel but an exchange—an inversion. What appears as sequence is only rotation misunderstood. We do not move forward; we pass through.

The sand does not accumulate meaning. It enacts it.

To live is to fall through form. To die is to gather again above it. To return is simply to pass the neck once more, dressed in another arrangement of circumstances.

The entourage changes—the costume, the dialect, the weather of the world—but the pattern persists. A gesture repeats itself across lifetimes like a refrain no one remembers writing.
