"We desire democracy rather than capitalism bent in unfair practices. Justice rather than silencing and retaliatory actions."

Amidst daily prayers and meditations dedicated to healing the community from harmful narratives, writing is all that remains. I am left without a glimmer of hope that the system will implement inclusive change—certainly not for the long-term residents who have been pushed to the margins.

Being a minority within a minority makes finding genuine support nearly impossible. When we look at the systemic unfairness of our environment, "bulldozers" emerge, fueled by opinions and narratives rather than facts.
For the AAPI community, being met with misinformation or silence feels like a deliberate structure of administrative gaslighting. We desire something wholesome, complete, and fair: democracy over a capitalism bent toward exploitation; justice over silencing and retaliation.

Potential for positive change is constantly shadowed by long-term systemic bias. They claim "heritage" as a shield, weaponizing it against those of us who have lived here for a lifetime. We have watched newcomers posture and act out of fantasy while we remain grounded in reality, standing close to those who set the standards, only to be kept in their shadow as human social litmus tests.

We ask for fairness, yet they frame our request as "bowing down" to those who refuse to understand our language or our English. It is relentless. Organizations document the harm without ever demanding accountability. We need a buffer to preserve our human rights against these community bulldozers.

In a system where biased support feels justified to those within it, we must stand our ground. Art and music have become our last resort, used only because all other forms of communication are worn and distressed. Yet, what we define as beauty and inclusion requires both support and protection.
