The real Pont del Diable, the Devil's Bridge, was built near Tarragona, Spain, and still stands today, you could walk across it over the valley. The Romans built it in the 1st century AD. According to local legend, a builder saw the wind destroy his work twice, and then declared that only the devil could build a bridge that would last a thousand years. The devil immediately appeared to him and said that he would build it in one night. In return, he asked to receive the first soul to drink from the aqueduct. However, a dog drank from the water first, so the devil only got his soul.
