Building a life on His words is compared to building a house on a firm rock rather than sinking sand.Construction of the Church: Jesus declared, "I will build my church". He continues to spiritually construct His global community, with believers acting as "living stones" being fitly joined together.Work Experience: During His earthly life, Jesus worked as a carpenter (or stonemason) alongside His earthly father, Joseph. This background gives Him intimate knowledge of construction, joints, and foundations, which He frequently used in His parables.
