A surrealist oil painting on a heavy, coarse canvas with deep impasto textures. A young woman with a melancholic expression is bathed in a cold, cinematic white light that casts deep, moody shadows across her face. Instead of tears, thin white cotton threads emerge from her eyes and drape down her cheeks. Her hand enters the frame holding a pair of metallic scissors, frozen in the act of snipping one of the threads. The color palette is dominated by black, deep charcoals, and a stark, pale highlight on the lips. The lighting is high-contrast and atmospheric, blending a dreamlike quality with a tactile, painterly grit.

The background is black, with thick, impasto brushstrokes. The woman is wearing a dark, button-down shirt. The lighting is dramatic, highlighting her face and hands.
