Sometimes I feel like an imposter in my own dreams. It sometimes feels like I am on the outside of a building and looking in to what is considered normal. As I look through the window, I can see people having fun while I stand outside in the rain. It sometimes feels like everyone else is having fun and enjoying life but me.
An expressionist painting depicts a rainy street scene with a detailed portrayal of a window on the left side of the composition. Inside the window, a lively group of five people, including two women and three men, are celebrating with raised arms and joyful expressions. One man on the far left holds a small blue umbrella. The window is framed by a building with textured, warm-toned walls, and rain streaks down the glass. On the right side of the painting, an elderly man with a long white beard and mustache, wearing a hat and a dark coat, stands in the rain. He holds a cane with one hand and has a pensive expression. The street is wet and reflects the light from a street lamp further down the cobblestone road. Buildings line the street, some with awnings and illuminated windows, all rendered in a vibrant, textured style with visible brushstrokes. The overall color palette is rich with blues, greens, yellows, and oranges, conveying both the chill of the rain and the warmth of the celebration inside.
