ArtistIllustration)) Japanese-American woman is reading a poem in English during a new. Age meeting. There are people of diversity present. As the Japanese American woman exits after finishing to clear the room;- one of the elderly Caucasian German women lashes out with rage. This shows how acceptance is on a timer. Then how people stew with anger because of personal issues. Rage is off the meeting clock.
Lessons Learned
I was reading a poem. And one of the attendees, held her words until we exited the meeting room. As soon as someone said the gathering was officially over-- she lashed out at me. Unkind and vulgar use of color highlighted her remarks. Today, in retrospect it reminded me of being naive
That support actually was from the community outside that group, allegedly for healing. And how listening to them, really hurt me badly. Fakeness vs. actual community -- another round of trust them and go with it that lead to failure.
So I had to choose not to risk going to Germany, ever. Because the harmful impact, is failure on my part for being open minded and believing in acceptance.
