Sketch out the general shape of the city on paper, including the coastline and any significant landmarks such as a lighthouse, pier or harbor. Add the buildings, starting with the tallest ones in the center of the city. Use rectangles and squares to represent the sides of the buildings. Draw smaller buildings around the larger ones, using different shapes and sizes to create a diverse cityscape. Add details such as windows, doors and roofs to the buildings. You can also draw balconies, air conditioning units and other features to make the city look more realistic. Draw people and vehicles in the streets and on the sidewalks. Use small stick figures for the people and simple shapes for cars and trucks. Add boats and ships in the harbor, using simple shapes to represent the hull and sails. Finally, color in the city and water using paint, markers or colored pencils. Use light blue for the sea and darker shades for the buildings and landmarks.
