A tale of sorrow, pain, and woe,
Of a Levite and his concubine, so.
They traveled far, in a foreign land,
But found no shelter, no helping hand.
A stranger offered them a place to stay,
In Gibeah, they hoped to find their way.
But evil lurked within the town,
As men of vice brought forth a frown.
They sought the Levite, demanded more,
Intentions dark, hearts full of gore.
They took the concubine by force,
And left her battered, broken, hoarse.
The Levite, grieved beyond belief,
Sent pieces of her, seeking relief.
A call to arms, avenge the wrong,
The tribes of Israel, gathered strong.
They sought justice, they sought right,
For the innocent, a valiant fight.
In Judges 19, a tragic tale,
Of senseless violence, and hearts so frail.
A reminder bleak, of humanity's sin,
And the need for justice to always win.
To protect the weak, and seek what's right,
To stand against evil, with courage bright.
