with seaside, birds, flowers, by Rottluff and Marc with one percent color
An abstract expressionist watercolor and ink painting of a coastal town. In the foreground, vibrant, spiky tropical foliage in shades of blue, green, and red frames the view. The midground features a harbor filled with several sailboats with tall masts docked along the quayside, where a few silhouetted figures stand. To the left, a tall clock tower rises above white buildings with red roofs, and similar white buildings line the right side of the harbor. The background shows a calm blue sea under a sky rendered with expressive washes of blue, white, and a bright orange sun. Birds are scattered in flight across the sky. The overall style is loose and gestural, with visible ink outlines and overlapping watercolor washes.
