Yep, that's Rio catching fire right now. Another delightful day! Only 36°c! Also, suffering with January tropical storms. And guess who and which areas are being affected the most? Of course poor people. Every single year like a clock.

I personally consider human-induced global warming as an established scientific fact, but I won't argue with you 🤗😉🤗

Yes, this year was already the 1.5 degrees of the Paris agreement - but for sure, you cannot measure it this way - have to average out the fluctuations. This said, it makes little doubt the temperatures (after averaging) are going steadily up, and stopping at the Paris 1.5 degrees becomes more and more a sweet fantasy... 🙄

@Phil 3.14 Exactly! I have the impression that many people hear it, but they don't understand the implications. The facts don't reach their innermost being!

I am a scientist, and I think this is not a matter of belief, but of scientific facts (still, it seems possible nowadays to "believe out" facts 😜)

@Phil 3.14 I knew someone who said the forest fires in California and west coast were started by aliens. And from what I understand she was not referrng to foreigners but 'other beings' .

Oh, no... This is a thought I have from time to time - maybe what is coming upon is is not what we now expect - e.g. a big volcano eruption would suddenly obscure the atmosphere promote an ice age... this would be very ironical... (a big solar storm or a meteorite collision are yet a few other cool options)

But I think still the most predictable and likely (and maybe avoidable?) is the global warming.
