The Lunar New Year starts on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, and ends on Tuesday, March 3, 2026. This new year will be the Year of the Fire Horse.
"Lunar New Year is one of the most important annual celebrations among East and Southeast Asian cultures, including Chinese, Vietnamese and Korean communities. Tied to the Chinese lunisolar calendar, the holiday began as a time for feasting and to honor household and heavenly deities as well as ancestors.
Across cultures, the holiday goes by different names. Chinese New Year is also known as the Spring Festival, or Chūnjié in Mandarin. Meanwhile, Koreans call the holiday Seollal, and Vietnamese refer to it as Tết."
