Prompt

Highly detailed traditional ink-and-watercolor wildlife illustration of a Hornet Clearwing Moth (Sesia apiformis) like the one in the provided image, but in a natural horizontal flying pose and angle. The moth is fluttering through a middle European marsh landscape. Fine-art composition. Create intricate pen-and-ink linework throughout the moss, grass stems, small stones, fallen vegetation and wetland textures, while allowing the moth's black-yellow coloration to emerge through luminous watercolor washes. Use varied ink pressure, fine cross-hatching, broken contour lines and delicate stippling to create depth without becoming photographic. Composition should visually communicate the contrast between the moth's microscopic scale and the immense wilderness surrounding it. The moth should appear precious and vulnerable rather than aggressive. Traditional field-naturalist illustration combined with expressive fine-art watercolor, antique natural-history influence, sophisticated ink drawing, organic hand-rendered imperfections, layered transparent pigment, textured paper, restrained atmospheric background, elegant conservation artwork. Non-photorealistic traditional ink and watercolor painting, clearly hand-painted, no photography, no photorealism, no hyperrealism, no CGI, no 3D, no digital realism. No text, no typography, no scientific labels, no logo, no watermark, no border.

To celebrate the little milestone of 200 public dreams 🥂 (not counting those that have been published but can't be public anymore), I slightly updated my profile image to (not perfectly but) better match the actual look of a hornet moth, and to be better recognizable as a moth at all. (The previous one has repeatedly been called a "bee" by the description generating AI.)

Here is that insect in a possible habitat.
I used the style part of a prompt by @rojithay. Many thanks for the inspiration!

A wide-angle landscape painting, watercolor art style, depicts a prehistoric wetland scene, featuring a hornet moth, flying in the center. The insect has four translucent, pale orange wings with distinct venation, a segmented black and yellow abdomen, and a fuzzy, dark thorax. Its head has prominent antennae. The scene is set in a swampy landscape with stagnant water, tall reeds, grasses, and mossy banks in the foreground. A decaying log lies submerged in the shallow water. In the background, sparse, needle-like trees line the horizon under a pale, overcast sky with soft clouds and a flock of birds in the distance. The overall color palette is earthy, dominated by muted browns, greens, and yellows, with a soft, diffused light suggesting an overcast day.
