Small homes patched together with rusted tin, warped boards, and crumbling stone crowded the narrow streets so tightly they seemed to be leaning on each other to stay upright. Thick bundles of wire sagged overhead in tangled knots, stretching from roof to roof like a web. The cracked pavement beneath our feet was littered with small puddles, darkened by grime. Hollow-eyed men lingered beside doorways with cigarettes burning between their fingers and exhausted women hauled crates or dragged restless children through the overcrowded streets. There is a hint of sci-fi elements.
A low-angle shot captures a dark, narrow, and ancient alleyway in a poor quarter, with puddles on the ground reflecting the dark gray, black, and greenish stone houses with broken glass windows, wooden shutters, and dirty grimy walls. An orange lamp illuminates the street. Old electrical wiring drapes haphazardly across the scene.
