More about Cross Road Blues Poem

I went down to the crossroads,
Where the roads met in a vee.
I stood there with my guitar,
Asking the Lord to set me free.
I played my heart out on that guitar,
Hoping for a sign from above.
I was willing to make a deal,
To trade my soul for a little love.
Then a figure appeared in the distance,
Walking towards me with a sway.
He said he could make me a star,
But I'd have to pay a heavy price to play.
I hesitated, but the devil was persuasive,
And my heart was filled with pain.
So I gave him my guitar,
And in exchange he gave me fame.
But the price was high, and I paid it well,
With a lifetime of sorrow and strife.
For I had sold my soul to the devil,
And now I play the crossroad blues for life.
