ArtistA hilarious, colorful Lowbrow pop-surrealist illustration in a whimsical French street during winter. On the first-floor balcony, a mischievous middle-aged woman in a pink dressing gown is vigorously rubbing the sole of one raised bare foot against a metal cheese grater (a traditional box grater used for Gruyère cheese). Tiny white flakes fall from the grater and drift down into the street like a magical snowfall. Below, a crowd of gullible pedestrians gazes up in delight, believing it is snowing. One enthusiastic man stands with his mouth wide open and his tongue sticking out, eagerly trying to catch the falling flakes. Exaggerated cartoon expressions, absurd visual comedy, mischievous satire, eccentric characters, richly detailed old European architecture, vivid contrasting colors, expressive black outlines, painterly textures, bold artistic brushwork, playful and surreal atmosphere. Wide cinematic composition, every character clearly visible, no text, no lettering, tiny calligraphic painterly signature “VG” in the bottom right corner.
