In Greek mythology, Achlys is the goddess of misery, sorrow, and death-mist. She is often depicted in a dark, unattractive, and terrifying way. In contrast, this version of a goddess of mist and sorrow shows the personification of misery, sadness, and despair in a pretty young goddess. Here she is seen in the shadows of the underworld, surrounded by mist, streams, and ancient ruins.
